parent training
Part of the therapeutic approach is to work directly with families, parents and siblings, to better understand how to integrate important skills learned in therapy, in other settings. Many children and adolescents frequently “melt down” or “tantrum” either frequently or infrequently in their home and in public. These events tend to cause intense and acute stress to the individual and family. Parents are coached to help their child or adolescent address these behaviors in an adaptive functional way. These includes teaching families the skills.
